A flavourful addition to your race or training sessions, the Maurten Addition allows you to add a distinctive taste to your Drink Mix 150 or 320, for a palate reset when training or running. This is a great solution to flavour fatigue by personalising your flavour experience. Because a fuel strategy should be unique to the athlete using it, the Maurten Addition enables you to vary the flavour profile of your carbohydrate fuel on your terms, according to your preferred taste, without affecting the functionality of the Hydrogel Technology. This is calculated fueling.
Flavour Fatigue Explained
Repeated consumption and overexposure to carbohydrate fuels - even those with a neutral flavour - and in particular to the same taste or texture, can reduce the appetite when trying to maintain a consistent fueling strategy. This makes fuel less appealing and could break an athlete's commitment to their fueling plan. Ultimately, it may lead to an energy deficit. Symptoms can include a lack of motivation to maintain a planned fueling protocol, a sickly or nauseous sensation, and a desensitised sense of taste. Maurten Additions help athletes prioritise fueling by mitigating against the negative effect of flavour fatigue.
How To Use
Prepare Drink Mix 320 or Drink Mix 160 in 500ml of water.
Ensure the Drink Mix has fully dissolved.
Add your preferred flavour of Additions.
Shake to combine.
Consume as part of your planned fuel strategy.
