Engineered Mesh Upper
The Pegasus 41 features a single layer of highly tuned mesh that strikes the ideal balance between comfort and containment. Prominent perforations within the mesh promise great breathability when making up miles in this daily trainer. The numerous holes within the engineered mesh facilitate the escape of hot air and moisture as the foot flexes. A lightweight fabric lining lays underneath this to maximise comfort and durability within the upper, helping to minimise rubbing when running. With an implemented midfoot band for a more secure but forgiving sensation. Nike have made sure that the upper on the Pegasus 41 has plenty of reflective detailing to ensure visibility in low-light conditions. Featuring a padded tongue and collar also for maximised comfortability, securing the ankle in place within the shoe. Alongside this, the traditional lacing system locks the midfoot down for a steady ride.
Nike ReactX Midsole
Utilising ReactX technology, the Pegasus 41 sees its biggest change since its predecessor. Offering 13% more energy return and reducing the carbon footprint by at least 43%, helping the planet one step at a time. The super responsive foam, absorbs impact upon contact before expelling it back for a bounce-like effect. This technology reduces strain on joints, diminishing fatigue and in turn enhances your performance to keep you going. Embedded within the ReactX foam are two Zoom Air Units, strategically placed - with one in the forefoot and the other, the heel. This design compliments the reactive nature of the foam by adding a stable feel underfoot to keep you confident on the go. The Zoom Air Units delivers a spring in every step due to pressurised air quickly springing back. It's top-loaded to be closer to your foot for better responsiveness as you move through the gait cycle. Nike broadened the forefoot and heel width compared to the Peg 40. The extra room provides a stable, springy Zoom Air engine for extra horsepower when you need it.
Rubber Outsole
Produces using a waffle-inspired outsole, the Pegasus 41 ensures extraordinary traction on both dry roads and rain-slicked pavements. The outsole has been strategically placed in high-wear areas to provide maximum durability when miles stack up. This also ensures areas such as the heel are protected from impact by reducing the overall shock absorbed. Grooves have been included to enable the natural flex in the foot while moving through the gait cycle and also supply added traction.
