Rab Ascendor 27 Mountain Backpack

Offering the versatility you need for wide-ranging objectives, the Ascendor is a true all-mountain pack. With strippable parts and an adaptable feature set, it transforms from a gear-hauling beast to an agile summit pack at a moment's notice. Equipped with multiple carry options for ropes, skis, and ice tools, it's the pack you'll take for any ascent, whether it's alpine climbing, scrambling, Scottish winter cragging, or routes with an overnight bivi. Abrasion-, tear-, and water-resistant, as well as snow-shedding, this rugged recycled Nylon pack copes with all conditions, and features a close-fitting TRI-FLEX back system allowing you to move freely and comfortably over demanding terrain. It supports the pack load for less strain during carry and features an internal HDPE sheet which can be stripped out, so you can fold the pack up and stash in your duffle when travelling. The pack is searchable in an emergency thanks to an integrated RECCO reflector to aid search and rescue, meaning you can be more easily located in an emergency. The U-shaped opening allows you to hang the pack by the lid on a belay for easy access to kit, with further internal and external zipped pockets for organising kit.

The pack is designed with the mountain in mind and as such it has a plethora of storage solutions, such as a daisy chain to attach extra equipment and rope carry under the top tensioners. It also features ice axe attachments and an A-frame ski carry. Hydrate on the go thanks to the 3L bladder sleeve (bladder not included) and attract attention with the built-in whistle on the sternum strap. The sternum strap and hip belt help with the load distribution, as do the top tensioner and upper and lower side compression straps.
