Matryx Upper

Designed using a Matryx upper, the X Ultra 5 has been constructed using a high-performance textile designed to resist abrasion with individually coated high-tenacity Kevlar and technical yarn, making it light and breathable. Working alongside this, the boots are made from a woven ripstop fabric, with additional reinforcements to prevent tearing, ripping and abrasion, providing you with a long-lasting, reliable pair of boots. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a GORE-TEX membrane resides inside the boot; it supplies a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling. Still, GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside, keeping sweat to a minimum and you cool and comfy. A Sensifit system cradles the foot, providing a precise and secure fit. A textile lining encases each foot in breathable comfort while Active support helps hold the foot in place and accompany its movement. Completing the upper is a traditional lacing system which locks the midfoot for a secure fit.

EnergyCell Midsole

Within the midsole, the X Ultra utilises EnergyCell technology, providing both comfort and protection. Towards the bottom, the midsole is extremely firm, helping absorb shocks instantly, preventing them from causing damage. The energy produced will be returned as a rebound, which offers an added spring in your step. The higher in the midsole, the EVA becomes less dense, making every step feel comfortable. In addition, an Advanced Chassis also resides, which helps optimise stability without limiting your mobility. The higher cut provides extra ankle support, while also keeping the front of the boot flexible for a more fluid ride. A moulded OrthoLite sockliner completes the midsole, an extremely soft and comfortable compound that wicks moisture, keeping the feet cool and dry at all times.

All-Terrain Contagrip Outsole

An updated outsole to their predecessors, the X Ultra 5 features the ultra-grippy All-Terrain Contagrip outsole, providing you with an unmatched level of grip and traction on varied terrain. This improved compound means the boots will not only form a solid grip on the terrain but also shed mud quickly. This is due to their large lugs, providing the perfect level of grip on all types of terrain, including wet and muddy conditions. The deep lugs dig into the ground, anchoring you in place. This will benefit you by acting as a solid base to push off from when taking the next stride, as well as digging into the ground when braking or changing direction.
