The North Face Verto Apex GORE-TEX Walking Boots
With a medium-volume performance fit, the three-season Summit Verto Apex GORE-TEX® Boots are purpose-built for trekking, climbing and guiding on alpine terrain.
Dyneema Ripstop Upper
Utilising Dyneema, the upper of the Verto Apex is highly durable, protecting your feet over varied trail conditions. Dyneema fibres don't stretch; integrating them into the upper creates a ripstop that is incredibly resistant to tears and punctures, which enhances the boots' longevity. The lightweight fabric has perforations that encourage cool air to circulate while releasing heat, keeping you comfortable and motivated to push on. The upper also features a built-in GORE-TEX membrane. The GORE-TEX membrane provides optimum protection on the trails by keeping your feet dry in poor weather, including snowy conditions. For increased protection on the trail, The North Face has included a protective scratch-resistant rubber toe cap and heel rands to protect feet when scrambling and climbing. On the rear of the collar is a heel pull tab to assist in putting the shoes on. Finally, a traditional lacing system has been added, using metal lace hardware and extended lower-ghillie lacing to provide strong lockdown for a confident, immovable fit. This is combined with a hook-and-loop strap at the top of the ankle for secure hold and extra ankle support.
EVA Foam Midsole
Providing soft cushioning underfoot, the Verto Apex's midsole uses lightweight EVA foam. This compound jumps into action when stepping down on unforgiving surfaces. Shock is absorbed into the foam, dissipating direct impact and protecting your joints and feet from injury. Within the foam is a heel bail and internal rigidity plate; this provides stiffness and support for crampon use without sacrificing comfort and lightness for everyday walking.
Vibram MONT Outsole
The North Face Verto Apex are finished with a MONT Vibram compound with an exclusive North Face design, a specialised, rigid rubber formulated for extreme outdoor environments. Engineered to maintain durability and superior grip on difficult, icy and rocky surfaces in sub-zero environments, the rubber compound makes it easier to use crampons, especially when tackling snowy and icy ascents. Utilising 5.5mm multi-directional lugs, the boots dig deep into the ground to enhance traction, providing you with a strong foothold on uneven terrain. Completing the outsole is a climbing zone that provides extra friction for precise foot placement, edging, and smearing on the ground.
