Altra Lone Peak 5 Women's Trail Running Shoes

The Lone Peak 5 maintains its status as the trail icon we know and love. This evolution includes the addition of an Altra EGO™ midsole, bringing an extra level of response to every step you take while conquering all types of terrain, with the MaxTrac™ outsole. The updated StoneGuard™ offers more coverage while using less substance, and the laser-cut drainage holes allow you to get drenched with added drainage.

Air Mesh Upper

Quick-drying air mesh allows cool air to circulate within the shoe to create a drier, healthier environment for your feet to thrive in whilst running. This helps comfort and performance by removing any distraction. In addition, the mesh actively and efficiently wicks away the build-up of excess sweat and moisture to leave your feet feeling cool, dry and comfortable as you strive for the best results and performance, whether it be during training or in the competitive arena of races. Lightweight and breathable allows a more streamlined, comfortable run to reduce any unwanted bulk so you maintain focus. While it is imperative to encourage moisture management, the upper is also highly durable and well-made for all occasions and environments.

A foot-shape toe-box ensures your feet remain protected from debris or falling rocks which you may encounter during trail running. The added stability allows for a more confident run, knowing you are protected. Gaiter trap technology allows you to attach a gaiter to your boot for additional anti-debris protection.

Altra EGO Midsole

The biggest update in the Lone Peak 5 is the introduction of the EGO in the midsole. While maintaining the same stack height of 25mm, Altra have been able to increase the cushioning and durability of the midsole. The midsole contains many areas with features that provide the shoe with extremely responsive rebound and cushioning, as well as the standard EVA that also protects and rebounds. The cushioning sits directly underneath the foot, which reduces ground impact, returning the energy as a spring for each step that you take. The feet sit on the midsole on a zero-drop platform. This means the heel and the forefoot are the same distance from the ground, encouraging proper low-impact form throughout your trail run.

MaxTrac Rubber Outsole

The all-new, sticky rubber MaxTrac outsole compound provides incredible grip, traction and durability on varying terrain to ensure a firm, assured footing. A unique tread pattern strategically positions lugs beneath your metatarsals for incredible traction in steep climbs and descents. TrailClaw lugs are situated centrally on the outsole and combine different traction patterns for a versatile, high traction feel.
