Quick-Dry Air Mesh Upper

The upper of the Lone Peak 7 has had an update on the previous version, the quick-dry air mesh used is now even lighter than before, without taking away durability and security. The soft and flexible upper is now made with seamless and stitch-less construction that allows you to run through wet and rainy conditions as the upper does not retain water, keeping you light on your feet. The upper also features updated drain ports that improve the flow of water ideal for trail running. The foot shape toe box allows your toes to spread out more naturally, offering greater comfort and stability in uphill climbs and downhill descents. Protecting your feet when on uneven and rocky ground is a built-in stone guard, keeping feet comfortable on the trail. The lacing system has been updated with additional lacing that provides a more secure fit across the forefoot, reducing in-shoe slipping. Finally, the heel loop makes transporting muddy shoes indoors quick and easy.

Altra EGO Midsole

The updated Lone Peak 7 features an EGO midsole that adds cushioning and flexibility ideal for trail running. Maintaining the same stack height of 25mm as its predecessors, Altra have been able to provide the perfect amount of cushioning and durability in the midsole for a comfortable feel on any trail. The midsole contains many areas with features that provide the shoe with extremely responsive rebound and cushioning, as well as the standard EVA that also protects and rebounds. The cushioning sits directly underneath the foot, which reduces ground impact, returning the energy as a spring for each step that you take. The feet sit on the midsole on a zero-drop platform. This means the heel and the forefoot are the same distance from the ground, encouraging proper low-impact form throughout your trail run.

Maxtrac Outsole

Staying in complete control is crucial on the trails. With the new and improved Maxtrac outsole, you can run with confidence, offering increased grip and stickiness compared to previous models, you can tackle wet and dry trails with ease. The durable rubber provides the perfect combination of grip and traction, making volatile surfaces incredibly easy to defeat. The Trailclaw lugs underneath are positioned strategically beneath the metatarsals, making toe-offs and sudden bursts count more.
