Altra King MT 1.5 Women's Trail Running Shoe

The Altra King MT is made for runners who embrace mud, rocks and burly mountain climbs and has made its mark as the quintessential king of the mud. The King MT 1.5 features a new upper with reinforced mesh and enhanced drainage features at the toes and medial midfoot, The FootLock strap has been moved medially and lower down the arch for increased comfort, and the neoprene inside the heel is softer and more secure. The awesome, grippy Vibram outsole, 6mm lugs, and the dual nature Altra Ego midsole are too good to change, so we kept them the same.

Reinforced Mesh Upper

Constructed with a reinforced mesh upper the Altra King MT 1.5 Trail Running Shoe delivers a snug fit with maximum breathability and increased durability. The reinforced mesh locks the foot in for a secure fit whilst the tear-resistant upper provides durable protection against the trail. Cool air is encouraged to permeate the fabric to remove uncomfortable heat build up creating a healthy environment feet can thrive in. Enhanced drainage at the toes and medial midfoot allows water and mud to escape the shoe to keep you light on your feet whilst the quick-drying fabric works to keep you dry and comfortable even when the elements become testing. The new Altra King MT 1.5 foot strap has been moved medially and lower down the arch; no longer on the navicular bone, the footstrap delivers a comfortable, adjustable strap that locks the foot in place during steep descents and uneven terrain. The toe protection protects against bumps and grazes out on the trail whilst added neoprene inside the heel offers a secure yet soft fit. Altra's FootShape toe box encourages the toes to relax and spread naturally, whilst allowing the big toe to remain in a straight position. The FootShape toe box enhances stability during uphill climbs and downhill descents when out on challenging trails whilst creating powerful toe-offs to maximise performance. The traditional lace closure secures the midfoot for a locked-in feel that reduces in shoe slippage, whilst a hook and loop tab allows strapless gaiter attachments that prevent dirt and debris build-up underneath the shoe.

Altra Ego Midsole

Engineered with an Altra Ego Midsole the King MT 1.5 delivers a dual-natured compound that is both responsive yet offers a soft, cushioned feel. The midsole delivers an increased energy return whilst offering cushioned comfort. A fully cushioned zero drop platform places your forefoot and heel the same distance from the ground; the zero drop encourages a natural foot position and low impact landing protecting the joints and reducing fatigue. Completing the midsole is a removable stoneguard. The updated stoneguard are inspired by real human feet for a lighter weight without compromising protection. The skeletal structure follows the anatomy of the foot for protection in key areas and eliminating any unnecessary weight.
