Hoka Speedgoat 3 Trail Running Shoe

Named after Karl Meltzer aka "The Speedgoat", who holds the record for the most 100-mile trail race wins and epitomises the "go everywhere, run everything" attitude, this shoe is designed to attack all kinds of technical trail. With that in mind, Hoka has further improved the fit, stability and durability of the Speedgoat 3.

Caged Midfoot Upper

Designed with an open engineered mesh construction, the Hoka Speedgoat 3 boasts exceptional breathability, allowing cool air to flow into the shoe releasing uncomfortable heat build up to create a cool and dry environment that the foot can thrive in. The mesh fabric hugs the foot offering lightweight support whilst the strategically placed overlay cage across the midfoot helps to lock the foot down in the shoe keeping you feeling secure and locked in for a stable and supportive fit. Additionally, a reinforced TPU midfoot overlays and a Speedframe construction provides much-needed support to the foot and durability to the shoe, protecting both from possible damage that the shoe may encounter along the trail. The improved Speedgoat 3 boasts further heel support and "seatbelt" support on each side of the shoe to create a protective cradle around the foot making the Speedgoat 3 the fastest, toughest trail running shoe out there. A Pull Tab has been added to the heel of the shoe which will allow the wearer to put the shoe on and take it off quickly and smoothly while the Heel Collar and Tongue on this shoe are made with soft fabric and plush cushioning, allowing these key areas to sit against the skin smoothly and without causing discomfort.

Eva Midsole

Oversized EVA midsole has been chosen to construct the midsole of the SpeedGoat 3. This material was specifically chosen as it provides lightweight cushioning which helps to keep the wearer's feet as comfortable and supportive as possible. The light EVA is also ideal for this running shoe as it prevents the wearer from feeling weighed down and will keep the wearer feeling light and quick on their feet. Another type of foam used to create the midsole is CMEVA. This material helps the midsole to absorb impact in key areas of the shoe and helps to stabilise the foot to keep the wearer firmly on their feet. A wider platform and toe box within the shoe is designed to provide a more stable based on a wide variety of terrain so you can have assured footing no matter how challenging the ground beneath you may be.

Vibram MegaGrip Outsole

The Vibram MegaGrip that has been used to construct this outsole is a high-performance rubber compound that features unparalleled grip on wet and dry surfaces, rugged longevity and optimal ground adaptability. This also made it the perfect material for trail shoes that have been designed to tackle the toughest, most technical terrain. The aggressive Multidirectional 5mm lugs across the outsole have been strategically placed to help the shoe to offer supreme grip on all kinds of rugged terrain.
