Warm, light and almost unaffected by wind, rain or snow, the Fitzroy Jacket is the ideal all-weather insulator for damp and cold conditions.
The Fitzroy has been designed to tackle weather in Scotland and Patagonia alike, so you know it can handle wet, grisly weather. This jacket has been constructed with a Drilite Loft shell with a PFAs-free DWR which is totally windproof and exceptionally water-resistant. The insulation is Primaloft Gold Hi-Loft Ultra with Cross Core aerogel technology, the best synthetic fill for wet weather, it is highly thermally efficient even when wet, fast drying and resilient in the face of constant packing and unpacking - it remains mobile enough for seconding steep pitches of climbing and wearing for long periods. There is 120g m-2 of insulation in the body and 80g m-2 in the hood and sleeves, balancing insulation and mobility. There is also an additional 60g m-2 shoulder overlay for compression resistance when wearing a pack. The 20 denier lining fabric is durable and breathable for moisture management and over-layering.
Cut with a Mountain Fit, it allows for easy over-layering and full range of motion, and the articulated and pre-shaped sleeves offer unhindered mobility when climbing in all your layers. The Shoulder Shield construction has seamless shoulder panels that help to prevent moisture ingress from melting snow and spindrift. For extra coverage the jacket features a Mountain HC Insulated Hood, which layers with a helmet with ease. The wired hood visor maintains your field of vision even in high winds or when wearing glasses/goggles. The hood is fully adjustable with rear volume adjustment and two frontal adjusters, and the body of the jacket has dual tether hem drawcords to provide adjustment and increase thermal efficiency. Plenty of storage is provided through 2 zipped outer hand pockets (with Octayarn lining for comfort), a zipped chest pocket, an inner stash pocket and an inner zipped security pocket. This means you can tuck your GPS or gloves away quickly and easily should you need to, and valuables can be stowed away safely inside the jacket. There is a 2-way YKK moulded centre front zip with an insulated rear baffle to minimise heat loss and wind ingress, and the elasticated cuff construction ensures ease of use with gloves while creating a perfect seal to maximise warmth. Finally, the lightweight stuff sack has been improved with a better carabiner loop for hanging on your harness, a dual tether cord lock to keep it closed during use, and no unnecessary loop to avoid accidental clipping. It can also be attached to the internal pocket to prevent dropping it while unpacking at a belay.
