The strategic perforations help to encourage cool, fresh air to circulate around the shoes, reducing heat build-up surrounding your feet, therefore keeping them fresh and feeling cool from start to finish. A durable construction ensures high wearability and support for a comfortable, distraction-free run. Supplying feet with a soft next-to-skin sensation and a reduced seam construction, the plush materials reduce irritations and chafing, providing an enjoyable ride. Moisture-wicking properties keep your feet cool and comfortable, preventing a build-up of sweat and providing a quick-drying experience. A traditional lace-up construction works alongside the soft, cushioned tongue and collar to provide a locked-in, secure fit and help to reduce in-shoe slipping from occurring.

Fresh Foam X Midsole

An evolution from their predecessors, the 860v14 utilises an updated dual-layer Fresh Foam X midsole constructed with approximately 3% bio-based content. This is New Balance's most cushioned Fresh Foam, providing incredible comfort. The top layer of the Fresh Foam X midsole is softer and more cushioned than the previous version, alongside the bottom layer, which provides a more stable experience. This combination of foams provides a soft, responsive landing base for confident, comfortable strides. Helping reduce injuries and discomfort, the midsole absorbs shocks when striking down on hard, unforgiving surfaces while encouraging a natural stride. Between the two foams is an EVA film, a Stability Plane, which helps to improve stability and control pronation. To encourage a smooth heel-toe transition, the 860v14 utilises a rocker geometry, propelling you forward for a more natural running stride.

Durable Rubber Outsole

To provide durability and underfoot traction, the Fresh Foam X 860v14 utilises a rubber outsole compound, providing the grip you need on various surfaces. Adorning the outsole are strategically placed geometric flex grooves to offer a smooth transition between strides, further enhancing the overall support and guiding your foot forward. This will reduce the risk of injury from slipping or rolling your ankle, as you will be held in a firm and upright position.
