Patagonia Grade VII Men's Down Parka
For thriving-not just surviving-in the most extreme places on earth, the overhauled Grade VII Down Parka is more weather resistant and warmer than ever. It represents years of building, testing and refining between Patagonia's designers and ambassadors, resulting in a belay and bivy parka worthy of the most visionary lines on the most intimidating peaks.
This parka is crafted from a light yet durable Pertex Quantum Pro 100% recycled nylon shell fabric which is durable and maximizes wet-weather protection with a water-resistant endurance coating. This helps water bead off rather than soaking in, helping you stay dry, all without having any intentionally added PFAS. This jacket is filled with 900-fill-power Responsible Down Standard down insulation, certified by Control Union (CU 880272), for comfort in extreme cold, the fully baffled construction has a differentially cut Pertex Quantum liner for maximal down loft without cold spots, and an elasticized stitch on the liner's side panels pulls the jacket into your body to trap heat and eliminate drafts. The alpine helmet-compatible, baffled hood has a single-pull drawcord and a high-loft draft collar around the neck to provide extra coverage when you need it most. The two-way, centre-front Vislon zipper is backed with kissing draft tubes to seal out the elements, and allows for easy belay access. Elasticized stitching at the cuffs locks in heat and allows the sleeves to be easily pulled down over gloves or pushed up at brew stops, whilst the hem-cord routes through the mini internal hem gasket and is located several inches above the jacket hem to cinch toward the body without draft spots.
The jacket also offers a multitude of storage options, with two large, zippered chest pockets with zipper garages and two large, zippered front welt pockets that offer easy access. These pockets have down insulation on both sides of the pocket bag to retain warmth when the pockets are open. Two catch-all interior pockets on each side of the front torso come with stretch mesh for draining snowmelt, and the interior-right pocket also has a small stash pocket with a keeper-loop for retaining the self-fabric stuffsack (which lets you tidy away the jacket when not in use).
