Matryx Upper

Designed using a Matryx upper, the X Ultra 5 has been constructed using a high-performance textile designed to resist abrasion with individually coated high-tenacity Kevlar and technical yarn that also makes it light and breathable. Working alongside this, the shoes are made from a woven ripstop fabric with additional reinforcements to prevent tearing, ripping, and abrasion, providing you with a long-lasting, reliable pair of shoes. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a GORE-TEX membrane resides inside the shoes, supplying a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling. Still, GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside, keeping sweat to a minimum and you cool and comfy. A Sensifit system cradles the foot, providing a precise and secure fit. A textile lining encases each foot in breathable comfort while Active support helps hold the foot in place and accompany its movement. Completing the upper is a Quicklace system, which locks the midfoot for a secure fit and comes with a lace pocket to stow the lacing system away.

EnergyCell Midsole

Within the midsole, the X Ultra utilises EnergyCell technology, providing both comfort and protection. Towards the bottom, the midsole is firm, which helps absorb shocks instantly and prevents them from causing any damage to the sole. The energy produced from this will be returned as a rebound, which offers an added spring in your step. The higher you get in the midsole, the less dense, making every step feel comfortable. In addition to this, an Advanced Chassis also resides, which helps to optimise stability without limiting your mobility while also keeping the front of the shoes flexible for a more fluid ride. A moulded OrthoLite sockliner completes the midsole, which is extremely soft and comfortable, wicking away moisture for cool and dry feet.

All-Terrain Contagrip Outsole

An updated outsole to their predecessors, the X Ultra 5 features the ultra-grippy All-Terrain Contagrip outsole, providing you with an unmatched level of grip and traction on varied terrain. This improved compound means the shoes will not only form a solid grip on the terrain but will also work to shed mud quickly. This is due to their large lugs, providing the perfect level of grip on all types of terrain, including wet and muddy conditions, thanks to their deep lugs, digging into the ground, anchoring you in place.
