Salewa Wildfire NXT GORE-TEX Walking Shoes

Designed to go from door to summit, the Wildfire NXT is Salewa's most advanced approach shoe with an outstanding lightweight-durability ratio. It features a seamless Kevlar-reinforced Matryx fabric upper that combines hiking comfort and durability with climbing performance, plus an oversized heel for softer cushioning and smoother landing.

Matryx Upper

The Salewa Wildfire NXT GORE-TEX utilises a Matryx upper that combines multi-filament threads of Kevlar and high-tenacity polyamide to create a lightweight single-layer material, with enhanced breathability and abrasion resistance. Its breathable nature increases airflow, preventing feet from overheating, keeping them cool and fresh. The materials are tear-resistant, which helps prevent abrasion or damage caused by knocks and bumps on the trails, keeping them looking their best for longer. The construction will also allow moisture from sweat to escape easily, keeping you dry and comfortable. The shoes have a GORE-TEX Invisible Fit Lining, which ensures feet remain protected from rainy conditions, preventing water and moisture from getting into the shoes while providing a combination of moisture and heat transference to ensure feet remain dry and comfortable, from the inside. The upper includes a protective TPU rand around the toes and through the midfoot, adding protection and stability to the shoes. The upper is completed with a traditional lacing system that locks down the midfoot and reduces in-shoe movement for distraction-free walking.

EVA Midsole

A full-length EVA platform is included for lightweight, responsive cushioning. Generous, soft and durable, it spares your joints as you strike down on hard, unforgiving surfaces. Exceptionally lightweight, the EVA ensures long-lasting cushioning to keep you comfortable on long-distance days. EVA is extremely firm, absorbing shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole. Energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, giving spring to your step. The midsole ensures you're ready for unpredictable trails and tough terrain. A Custom Fit Footbed Pro has been added, providing the perfect balance of ground feel and comfort. Using a four mm recycled EVA foam layer, enhancing your walking experience, providing a responsive yet cushioned feel. Salewa has enhanced the heel area, increasing cushioning to maximise comfort, ensuring a smoother heel strike, reducing impact and fatigue. Salewa has also integrated its 3F System into the shoes, offering increased support, flexibility and security. The System connects the instep, sole and heel to create a stable yet flexible structure. This structure ensures the heel stays in place, reducing the risk of blisters and discomfort while giving lateral support to prevent ankle rolling on uneven terrain, making the shoes both protective and agile.

Vibram Megagrip Outsole

Developed using a Vibram Megagrip outsole, the Salewa Wildfire NXT GORE-TEX provides extreme grip and traction on multiple surfaces. Developed for extremely slippery terrain, the durable rubber forms a solid bond with the ground beneath, anchoring you in place. Despite facing abuse from rough ground, the rubber stands up against this, deflecting the blows and retaining a strong shape and structure. The durable rubber provides a strong grip on the most challenging terrain, protecting users from losing control and slipping. Completing the outsole are multi-directional lugs which dig deep into the ground when braking or changing direction. The deep lugs dig into wet and muddy ground, securing you in place whilst forming a solid base to push off.
