The latest update to Topo's high-cushion neutral trainer, the Phantom 4, delivers an even more cushioned, responsive, and comfortable ride.

Engineered Knit Upper

The all-new upper of the Phantom 4 is made using an engineered knit for highly breathable comfort and softness. It allows built-up heat and vapour to escape whilst fresh air flows in for a pleasant cooling sensation to keep you focused on the miles ahead. The upper features Topo's signature roomy toe-box, helping toes align in their natural position for better balance, stability and comfort. A traditional lacing system allows you to lock in the fit for a secure midfoot and heel, ensuring confident strides, so you can run worry-free. Completing the upper is a padded tongue that reduces pressure points on the top of the foot while increasing overall comfort.

Dual Density ZipFoam Midsole

The Phantom 4 has a new and improved full-length, dual-density ZipFoam midsole to provide a super responsive and cushioned ride. ZipFoam is Topo's proprietary midsole compound, which is springier than EVA, offering more rebound than standard foam. The foam is lightweight, soft underfoot and highly responsive. This keeps you light on your feet and energised, propelling you into your next step, so you can pick up the pace and run for longer. The cloud-like foam offers shock-absorbing properties that help to prevent discomfort or possible injuries by absorbing the impact when striking down on tough terrain. With a dual-layer construction, it has two levels of cushioning - soft against the foot and firmer/more responsive against the ground, working in harmony to keep you protected and bouncy. The midsole geometry provides neutral stability, reducing overpronation during your runs. With a greater stack height than the previous version, there is more cushioning underfoot. This midsole has a 5mm drop, which is Topo's highest drop, offering you access to natural running with more under-heel cushioning. Atop the midsole is a performance insole that offers long-term resilience and anti-microbial properties for step-in comfort and fresh-smelling feet.

Rubber Outsole

Produced using an updated, highly durable rubber outsole, the Phantom 4 ensures traction on varied surfaces and conditions. The rubber provides a strong grip, protecting itself from possible damage and preventing users from slipping. Placed in high-wear areas such as the forefoot and heel to increase durability and resist heel strike trauma, for a reliable and long-lasting running partner. The rubber has been removed in the midfoot to reduce weight, keeping things light when you move.
