From Yorkshire to Morocco
Yorkshire runner Ian Chappell completes epic 2000 mile distance across 4 countries.
Ian Chappell, 58yrs, from Horsforth, Leeds ran almost 2000 miles in 52 days across four countries - England, France, Spain and Morocco. Starting on the summit of Whernside, North Yorkshire, Ian completed his run on the summit of Jbel Toubkal (4167m) in the High Atlas, Morocco.
Throughout the challenge Ian was supported by SportsShoes who provided 5 pairs of Salomon Sonic Pro 2 running shoes.
Ian said, ‘I run throughout the year in Salomon Sonic Pro shoes and they were the obvious choice for my challenge. I ran over 30 miles each day for 52 days without any foot problems. The Sonic Pros are a good fit, did not rub and the inner sock allowed me to adjust the lacing to suit the conditions (it was 47C in Marrakech!). My thanks to SportsShoes and Salomon for their support.’
