The midsole of the Vanish Tempo 2 sees Altra's new foam compound take over from the previously used Ego Pro. The dual-layer of supercritical foam is exceptionally responsive, with pillowy soft landings and a more energetic toe-off. While striking the ground, the foam absorbs energy and uses it in your next stride, propelling you forward and increasing speed. Not only does it absorb the impact to propel you forward, but it also helps dampen shocks, which in turn reduces stress on joints and prevents injuries. The midsole includes a split PEBAX plate that is built for propulsion while still allowing natural forefoot movement. The shoe's midsole is designed for faster sessions, tempo runs and longer efforts at quicker paces.
