MotionWrap 2.0 Upper

Providing you with enhanced levels of breathability and comfort, the ASICS Metaspeed Edge have a MotionWrap 2.0 upper to keep you focused on the race ahead. This excellent upper construction wraps around your foot, providing you with a sock-like fit and feel, for flexibility and freedom of movement. Due to being uniquely thin, the materials will also allow a steady flow of air in and out, which will provide constant breathability and ventilation to keep you going for longer in comfort. The no-sew construction will also encourage targeted airflow, whilst also removing the risk of irritations being caused by rubbing and chafing. Support is offered to the forefoot and rearfoot as the material thickens, protecting vulnerable areas of the feet whilst a flat-lying tongue prevents irritation from occurring. Completing the upper of the Metaspeed Edge is a traditional lace-up construction, allowing you to keep your foot locked down and secure inside the shoes.

FF Turbo Plus Midsole

Updated with the lighter-than-ever FF Turbo Plus midsole, the Metaspeed Edge helps to generate an exceptional response, to help you go and feel a lot faster. Upon every step, the midsole compresses before quickly snapping back to its original shape to give you an explosive response. The midsole will also provide cushioning to take weight off the joints like the knees and ankles. This will reduce injuries, as well as prevent fatigue from occurring. The impacts with the ground will also be absorbed instantly, which will mean that there won't be any uncomfortable forces felt by the sole. The midsole has a curved design and helps to reduce ankle flexion, allowing runners to conserve more energy and run further with less effort. The midsole also has a carbon plate which runs from the midfoot towards the front to add structure while guiding the foot and propelling the body forward, allowing you to be able to conserve more energy and help maintain your pace at the later stages of the race.​ The curved sole design and angled carbon plate help to increase forward propulsion and extend stride length.

ASICSGRIP Outsole

Outstanding grip and traction are guaranteed with the ASICSGRIP outsole. Keeping you anchored to the ground beneath you will improve efficiency, making sure that every second counts. The rubber can form a solid grip on surfaces beneath you for complete control in all conditions. Additionally, the rubber is extremely tough and abrasion-resistant, which means that it will maintain its shape and definition over a long period of time. The design of the outsole will also provide further traction, as it will dig in to provide further control while the curved sole design helps runners conserve more energy in each step.
