ASICS Magic Speed 5 Running Shoes

The Magic Speed 5 shoe features an energised ride so you can fly through your runs and races with more speed. It's also approximately 50g lighter than the previous version.

Engineered Mesh Upper

Providing enhanced breathability and comfort, the upper of the Magic Speed 5 promotes in-shoe freshness for the entirety of your run. Perforations within the upper allow for air to circulate effectively around the foot, allowing heat to escape and make room for cooling freshness. The material also protects the foot from possible snags and reduces the possibility of distractions when racking up the miles. A flat-laying tongue has been added to provide a snug fit; the minimalist design keeps weight down and distraction-free. Serrated laces have been added to prevent any discomfort when tightening the shoe; the traditional lacing system also effectively locks the midfoot into place for an immovable fit.

FF Leap and FF BLAST PLUS Midsole

Crafted using a combination of both the FF Leap and FF BLAST PLUS foams, the midsole of the Magic Speed 5 keeps you light and nimble on your feet while confident and stable in your stride. The lower layer of FF BLAST PLUS is the firmer of the two, working to keep you steady but bouncy at all times while offering enhanced soft cushioning. When striking down on unforgiving surfaces, shock is absorbed into the foam, dissipating direct impact and protecting your joints and feet from injury. The secondary FF Leap is the lightest foam ASICS has designed, with an unbeatable softness underfoot made to soften every step. This foam is also highly responsive, providing you with added propulsion for that needed boost when the miles become tough. Also added within the midsole is a full-length carbon plate to add further snappy propulsive energy to your run, helping you conserve energy by pushing your foot forward for stronger strides. Finally, a perforated insole has been added atop the midsole, enhancing the overall breathability through the shoe for a cooling effect.

ASICSGRIP

Designed for maximum traction and durability, the outsole of the Magic Speed 5 utilises ASICSGRIP rubber to do so. This keeps you stable over dry pavements and rain-slicked roads, enhancing confidence in yourself and the shoes on your feet. Additionally, the rubber is extremely tough and abrasion-resistant, which means that it will maintain its shape and definition over a long period of time. The design of the outsole will also provide further traction, as it will dig in to provide further control, while the curved sole design helps runners conserve more energy in each step.
