NNormal Kjerag 2.0 Trail Running Shoes
Be fast. Go hard. Tread lightly. Kjerag 2.0 is NNormal's most advanced trail running shoe, embodying these principles. NNormal updated their pinnacle product of their collection to make it even faster, more durable and with greater comfort.
Matryx Jacquard Upper
The upper of the NNormal Kjerag has been created with a Matryx Jacquard mesh. Like other Matryx products, this is 10x more durable than standard mesh running shoes, increasing the durability of the upper, which means a long-lasting shoe. However, the shoes are 3x more breathable than the first edition of the Kjerag, thanks to the more flexible and thinner woven technology. This allows cooler air in while the thinner material traps less heat than the previous model, providing better temperature control. The Matryx upper is a combination of polyamide and Kevlar fibres that have been woven together; the combination provides an abrasion-resistant finish that keeps your feet and shoes protected from rocks and trail debris. The shoes now include a one-piece knitted tongue that wraps around the foot for a snug fit, reducing chafing and irritation. Increasing the protection, NNormal has added TPU foils to the toe box and around the shoe to help prevent injury from knocks and scrapes while also acting as a mudguard. For improved step-in comfort, the shoes have a softer heel lining for a better feel and longer-lasting heel support. Completing the upper of the Kjerag 2.0 is a traditional lacing system that reduces in-shoe movement and a locked-in feel for a comfortable run every time.
EExpure Midsole
The midsole of the Kjerag 2.0 features an updated EExpure foam. The foam is created when heating the foam materials with CO2 gas, which returns to its liquid state, creating a new form of foam. The benefits of the process are that this provides you with a shoe that offers a high rebound and energy return, reducing fatigue so you can run further for longer, making it easier to clock up those miles. Not only this, but it reduces the weight of the foam and the weight of the shoes overall, keeping you light on your feet and ready to hit those PBs. Still lightweight, the new midsole foam is even more resilient, improving its rebound and resilience properties by 35% while its durability increased by 40% and tear resistance by 12%. The updates provide you with a shoe that not only helps you run faster for longer, but lasts longer too. For improved comfort on the trail, NNormal has increased the midsole thickness by 2.5mm for a softer feel underfoot. An increased midsole rocker shape helps with a more natural running gait for a more efficient run.
Vibram Outsole
Finishing the shoe is the outsole. The Kjerag 2.0 uses a combination of compounds created by Vibram. The first of the two is Megagrip, a high-performance rubber compound that offers unparalleled sticky grip and optimal ground adaptability, allowing you to tackle tricky terrain with ease, whether the surface is wet or dry. The durable rubber offers rugged longevity, providing unprecedented grip hike after hike and trail after trail. The second is Litebase. Vibram Litebase reduces the overall sole weight by 30% by reducing the sole thickness by 50%, while maintaining Vibram's quality grip, traction and durability. The two Vibram compounds make the outsole of the Kjerag 2.0 lightweight and grippy, ready to tackle any trail you put in front of it.
