Mesh Upper
The upper has been designed to mould and adjust to your foot for total comfort. This means that you end up with a totally reliable running buddy that has that 'made for you' feel. The ultra-breathable mesh allows built-up heat and vapour to escape whilst fresh air flows in for a pleasant cooling sensation. Built-in cushioning in the heel works to make sure even when the miles rack up, you stay feeling strong and confident. A traditional lacing system locks in the fit to keep you in the zone and in control.
Advanced Midsole and Outsole
Using On's unique outsole-midsole technology, the Cloudboom Max utilises strategically placed Cloudtec elements to provide outstanding cushioning and optimised comfort, which creates a faster, smoother roll-through experience. This advanced technology adapts to your stride and reacts to your unique movements to receive a soft, bouncy landing and encourage explosive take-offs. Reacting according to your distinctive movements, Cloudtec compresses horizontally and vertically to cushion just where it should. The horizontal deformation of the Clouds also reduces braking force. Additionally, the Cloudtec elements provide shock-absorbing comfort to help reduce stress and strain on your joints that often occur when striking down on harder surfaces, therefore keeping you comfortable. An 8% glass fibre infused Speedboard works to further encourage this effect, with the polyamide compound and geometry working to provide support and dissipate heel strike impact.
Adding to the super cushioning and comfort, the shoes utilise a double layer of On's Helion HF hyper foam technology, which is super lightweight and high-performing, to maximise your running efficiency. The compound yields energy to push you into your next stride, providing you with super-responsive strides and returning the energy. The top and bottom midsole geometry are geared towards the common running style of non-elite runners, meaning anyone can get the best out of their performance, and with the max legal stack, you can get the max of the cushioning power whilst remaining compliant. A durable rubber adorns the outsole, keeping you stable and secure on a range of road-running and racing surfaces. The rubber is present on the heel and forefoot to keep you stable when striking, and enhance the durability in areas that are higher-wearing, whilst areas with less ground contact have had the rubber shaved away to reduce weight.
