Welded Upper

Utilising a stitch-free construct the Welded upper of the S/LAB Alpinway provides a glove-like fit with enhanced durability for trails and scrambles. The material also allows for air to circulate effectively around the foot, helping heat to escape and in turn allowing cool freshness to enter, reducing fatigue and boosting motivation to push onwards. Under the material is a textile lining to promote soft comfortability against the foot that is highly breathable, reducing the chance for moisture to sit within the shoe. SensiFit technology has been implemented into the upper, cradling your midfoot from the midsole up to the laces, helping you stabilise over uneven and unpredictable terrain while a protective mudguard protects the lateral and medial sides of the feet when covering uneven ground. On the back of the sock-like collar, Salomon have added a heel pull tab to assist you with slipping the Alpinways on with ease. Finally, a quickLACE system has been utilised for simple and quick use, allowing you to tighten them in one movement while never loosening unexpectedly for complete confidence in wear.

Dual-Density Midsole

Combining two foams of different densities, the midsole of the S/LAB Alpinway provides both stability and comfort underfoot. Ensuring outstanding energy return, experience propulsive boosts to every step while your feet stay feeling soft and fresh, provide you with a soft landing on trails. When striking down on unforgiving surfaces, shock is absorbed into the foam, dissipating direct impact and protecting your joints and feet from injury. Resting on the midsole is a Molded Ortholite Sockliner, which contours to the shape of your foot for a snug and cradled fit that enhances breathability through perforations within the sockliner. In between the midsole and the outsole sits a shank, providing torsion rigidity and better stability without causing distraction to the fit changing.

Alpine ContaGRIP Outsole

Designed to provide you with the best grip over unpredictable terrain, the Salomon Alpine ContaGRIP outsole has been utilised for complete control on changing alpine terrain. The rubber is hard-wearing to repeated smack down, supporting you as the miles build up with a strong structure to boost your confidence in every step. On the forefoot of the outsole a climbing zone has been added, which delivers different grip specifically crafted for climbs and scrambles.
