Mesh Upper
The upper of the Gel-Blade FF 2 features a breathable mesh construction with micro-perforations in the fabric, which allow for continuous airflow. These small holes facilitate the escape of heat and vapour while simultaneously drawing in and circulating fresh air. The shoes are designed with no-sew film overlays, which not only enhance strength and stability but also contribute to their flexibility and lightweight feel. Additionally, the raised heel collar height improves overall stability and helps prevent the foot from slipping out of the shoe. The traditional lacing system further anchors the shoe to the foot, providing greater stability and control during wear.
FlyteFoam Propel Midsole
Designed to provide lightweight cushioning, the midsole of the Gel-Blade FF 2 has been constructed with ASICS' FlyteFoam Propel cushioning. FlyteFoam is the lightest cushioning material ASICS has ever made, 55% lighter than the industry standard. This soft and energetic foam protects against unnecessary stress and fatigue. Its reinforced, organic fibres let the material bounce back to its original shape after every stride, so you can train harder, more frequently, for longer without worry that your shoes might not be able to take it. Resilient and innovative, FlyteFoam Propel technology lets you move with the feeling that your feet aren't even touching the ground. FlyteFoam Propel has all the features and benefits you already love about the technology, but brings lightweight foam with high-energy return elastomer for increased bounce and unrivalled toe-off. This allows for better performance with every stride. This FlyteFoam Propel technology allows you to experience more underfoot comfort and higher jumps. A 15mm heel-to-toe drop is used to help make faster forward transitions. This makes it easier to transition from the baseline to the net more quickly. TWISTRUSS technology completes the midsole, increasing jumping force and improving stability, while GEL technology cushioning provides excellent shock absorption to reduce the risk of injury.
Precision Sole Outsole
The Blade FF 2 features a Precision sole design on its outsole. ASICS utilised a 3D modelling application to create a new outsole pattern, striking an optimal balance of flexibility, lightweight design, and grip. This is further enhanced by X-GUIDANCE technology, which improves diagonal court coverage and provides greater flexibility for easier movement on the court. The durable rubber outsole guarantees excellent grip and control, forming a solid bond with the court surface. This allows you to firmly establish your position. Additionally, the anti-abrasion properties of the rubber ensure that the shape and definition of the outsole are maintained over time.
