Supportive Upper
Designed with foot protection in mind, the upper of the Gel-Challenger 14 Clay consists of foot-hugging material for volleys or when you're dropping back to track down deep lob shots. Perforations within the upper allow for air to circulate effectively around the foot, helping heat to escape and in turn allowing cool freshness to enter, reducing fatigue and boosting motivation to push onwards. The upper has DYNAWNING Technology built into the sidewalls to stabilise side to side movements for support when stepping into your shot. Alongside this, a PGUARD toe protector has been utilised to shield feet from possible snags and bumps when covering the court in fast movements. The tongue and collar have been padded out to better support your medial and lateral movements while keeping the foot locked into place. This is complimented by the traditional lacing system that effectively locks the midfoot into place for minimal slip on the move.
GEL Technology Midsole
Providing feet with comfort and a soft sensation underfoot, the Gel-Challenger 14 Clay utilises GEL technology within the midsole. Specifically focused within the heel, the GEL improves rearfoot impact absorption and creates a softer feeling at foot strike. Finally, the midsole features a removable OrthoLite sockliner for soft step-in comfort and improved breathability around the foot.
AHARPLUS Outsole
Adorning the outsole is Asic's AHARPLUS technology, with clay court specific properties to offer you the best control. The outsole has excellent abrasion-resistant properties so you can rely on your shoes long-term, whilst being lightweight to keep you focused on the game ahead. The grippy nature of the outsole allows you to make those necessary twists and turns during tennis, preventing you from slipping and sliding when it matters and keeping you light on your feet. The rubber is also non-marking to ensure a scuff-free game.
