Breathable AIRmesh Upper

Utilising an AIRmesh mesh upper, the Wave Equate 9 encases your feet with breathable comfort. Perforations within the upper ensure constant airflow, small holes in the mesh encourage cool air to flow and circulate through the shoe while removing built-up heat to help regulate temperature, so you remain comfortable when clocking up the miles. Increasing comfort, Mizuno has included a cushioned tongue and heel that enhances the comfort and fit, teamed with a traditional lacing system that secures the midfoot and heel areas to reduce excessive movement for a locked-in fit and distraction-free strides.

Mizuno ENERZY Midsole

Providing exceptional comfort and support, the shoes utilise a Mizuno ENERZY midsole, which provides outstanding cushioning and energy return. Absorbing shocks without compromising comfort, the midsole foam dampens impacts when striking hard surfaces, lessening the risk of injury. The energy produced when striking the ground is converted into a rebound, adding a spring to your next step. This has been teamed with Mizuno Wave Technology, which enhances the in-shoe cushioning while increasing stability. The Wave prevents partial deformation and provides dynamic support to stabilise and guide the foot forward. U4icX and U4ic compounds also feature in the midsole, for a stress-free, cushioned ride with high rebounds, pushing you during longer runs. Completing the midsole is a double fan-shaped wave designed to correct overpronation and enable smoother movements.

X10 Rubber Outsole

Offering the perfect amount of traction and grip, the Wave Equate features an X-10 outsole. The rubber outsole provides superb traction for quick and explosive movements while increasing overall durability to keep you confident during your run. X-10 allows for longer wear in high-impact areas and provides more traction during heel strike, so you'll always feel in complete control. SmoothRide Technology resides in the outsole, providing a fluid, rocking-chair-like transition. As the foot hits the ground, SmoothRide kicks in to help minimise the rapid acceleration and deceleration during the gait cycle, creating the smoothest ride possible.

In an effort to reduce waste, these shoes contain lots of recycled materials, with the upper containing 30% recycled content on the outer fabric, 90% recycled content on the lining, and the shoe lace is 90% recycled. Even the wave plate is eco-conscious, with its plant-based Elastollan N series construction.
