The Rapid LT is a lightweight, high-performance approach shoe designed for climbers, scramblers and fast-moving mountain athletes who demand agility, protection, and precision. With a technical jacquard-woven upper, a TPU rand for added durability, and an ergonomic last that enhances comfort and support, the shoes are built for tackling rugged trails, steep scrambles, and technical approaches with ease.
Jacquard Mesh Upper
The upper of the Rapid LT is made from a highly durable and rugged jacquard mesh. Allowing air to flow in for a pleasant cooling sensation, the upper keeps you feeling fresh during tough periods. It is also highly durable and can withstand knocks and scrapes out on the trail with ease. This LT version of the Rapid walking shoe has been engineered for those who move fast in the mountains, offering the fastest, lightest design for this. The all-around TPU rand and well-protected rubber toe cap further increase the substantiality of the shoes, and a traditional lacing system that has been extended allows you to find the perfect locked-in fit. The upper has been built using the EXO model by Scarpa, the lateral protections are integrated directly into the structure of the upper, forming an exoskeleton to support and contain the foot laterally. It has been built on an ergonomic ARSAX last for a dynamic fit.
Agility XT Midsole
Underfoot is a medium-high density EVA foam compound. It attenuates shock as you strike down, protecting your joints and muscles. This energy is then converted into rebound, propelling you forward so you can explore more of the great outdoors using less energy. The EVA is highly durable and stable, resisting damage over time and keeping you on a solid base. Working alongside this, the Agility XT midsole has outstanding shock absorption for underfoot cushioning and a more enjoyable ride, working to reduce the risks of injury by absorbing impact when striking down on harsh surfaces, therefore preventing distractions and discomfort on the move. The foam also enhances stability to keep you focused on the journey ahead, making them perfect for scrambling and hiking adventures. On top of this, an Ortholite insole provides step-in comfort and breathability, creating a cooler, drier and more hygienic environment for your feet to thrive in.
Vibram MegaGrip Outsole
For the outsole, Scarpa have used a Vibram MegaGrip sole that combines a climbing zone with maximum grip at the toe and a rear Brake System. This provides you great grip and traction across varied terrain. The outsole also has targeted propulsion and stability areas to keep you confident out on the trail. 3.5mm lugs mix sensitivity and durability to satisfy any kind of approach activity. The rubber compound delivers great grip on both wet and dry surfaces.
