VJ Sarva XTER Waterproof Trail Running Shoes

The VJ Sarva XTER is the first studless winter running shoe from VJ. The shoe is in its element in winter's varying, wet weather, but thanks to its butyl rubber outsole, the XTER can also handle icy conditions.

Shoe Fit Scale

VJ have graded the fit on all their shoes from 1 to 5 to help you find the perfect-fitting shoe. Grade 1 represents their most precise and narrow fit. On the other end of the scale, grade 5 has the widest fit. The lower the number on the scale, the narrower the fit, ensuring minimal movement, which is essential when running fast on technical terrain. Shoes with the higher numbers on the scale will suit people with wider feet and those who want extra comfort. A wider fit is usually preferred on longer runs and races because feet tend to swell during longer distances.

VJ have graded the VJ Sarva XTER as Grade 4.

One-piece Waterproof Upper

The shoe's upper is a waterproof and durable one-piece upper. The upper prevents water from entering the shoes while remaining breathable, allowing heat and vapour to escape, keeping feet dry and comfortable from the inside out. The one-piece upper keeps feet irritation-free, reducing hotspots and rubbing for distraction-free running. Adding to the comfort and fit, the last is shaped like a foot and has a roomy toebox, giving the toes space to move around and offering more stability. The XTER features a soft heel that decreases pressure on the Achilles tendon and prevents the foot from chafing for a comfortable wear experience. Keeping your foot secure, VJ has added their innovative Fitlock system, which offers an optimal fit by locking the foot from the arch. It also protects the arch from the impact the foot faces while running.

PerFOAMance Midsole

The midsole of the VJ Ultra 3 has been created using nitrogen-infused foam that provides high energy return and responsiveness. This new foam is a modern, supercritical foam that is lighter, more responsive, more comfortable and more propulsive than a traditional EVA foam. Compared to other foams, PerFOAMance is more durable and doesn't wear as easily. Infusing nitrogen into the foam, VJ has expanded their midsoles, increasing underfoot comfort and propulsion. The foam helps propel you forward, increasing speed while absorbing shocks and negative impact forces as you strike hard surfaces. This reduces stress on the joints and the risk of injury. A rocker geometry has been created in the midsole to make your stride smoother while driving you forward. The midsole also gives the arch of the foot the support it needs, especially on those longer runs.

Superior Contact Outsole

Featuring a unique outsole comprising Butyl rubber, the Sarva XTER utilises a Superior Contact outsole that ensures ultimate control and traction whilst on the road. The outsole can form a strong grip on various terrains, guaranteeing complete underfoot traction. Naturally tough, the outsole will maintain its shape and definition over time. 4.5mm multi-directional lugs have been meticulously shaped and positioned, improving propulsion at the front and braking at the rear. Measured spacing between the lugs prevents debris from sticking to the outsole while providing great grip in wet conditions.
