Leather Upper
To ensure protection, comfort and confidence on long, wintery hikes, the Fastpack Insulated boots feature a durable, leather upper. This durable compound provides excellent structure and protection on your hikes, preventing damage from being caused by bumps, scrapes or scratches when traversing challenging conditions, therefore shielding feet from discomfort. The materials allow air to flow freely throughout the upper structure to prevent feet from overheating and keep you focused on the journey ahead. Additionally, the upper features a waterproof, breathable DryVent membrane, which stops feet from getting wet in poor, changing weather conditions, and windproof properties stop wind chill from affecting your walk. This iteration of the Fastpack features 200g of Heatseeker synthetic insulation, a durable, lightweight insulation that keeps feet toasty when the weather is super cold. The boots have a multitude of helpful additions to ensure comfort and protection when the winter weather gets too much, including a D Ring compatible with a gaiter, as well as, a Snowshoe knob on the heel for strap support, to keep you more stable on slippery surfaces. The protective, reinforced toe cap stops knocks and bumps from hurting you on trail adventures and provides a layer of protection for the boots. The laces work to provide a secure, locked-in fit for stability on tricky trail adventures.
High-Rebound EVA Midsole
Designed to maximise energy on the trails, the midsole has been constructed using The North Face's revolutionary VECTIV technology, an in-shoe technology that combines a 3D plate and rocker geometry midsole to turn energy into momentum for forward propulsion on hiking trails. The VECTIV system works to provide you with more energy return, helping to reduce fatigue and prepare for the next toe-off, therefore ensuring smooth, comfortable strides on your hike. VECTIV technology minimises energy loss, increases propulsion, and delivers an abundance of structural support, making your trek feel effortless. A 3D TPU plate underfoot offers multi-directional stability, with rocker midsole geometry for effortless, natural strides, whilst EVA foam provides additional comfort that remains lightweight and breathable with soft properties. Completing the midsole construction of the Fastpack Insulated boots is a high-rebound, single-density EVA compound to keep feet comfortable and ready to tackle the long trail ahead.
SurfaceCTRL Outsole
Designed to be hardwearing and grippy, the Fastpack Insulated Waterproof walking boots have been developed using a unique SurfaceCTRL outsole compound. This bio-based rubber has been specially designed to ensure traction on both wet and dry surfaces and works to ensure multi-directional traction on a wide range of surfaces. The highly durable rubber is strong enough to withstand the toughest trails, yet is flexible enough to adapt to different terrain so you can have complete control. The construction provides a strong grip on the most challenging terrain and works to protect itself from damage, and users from losing control and slipping. The outsole is designed to hold firm on uneven terrain so you can have complete confidence on the toughest terrains. Strategically placed 4mm lugs adorn the outsole and dig deep into wet mud and slippery rocks to ensure added traction and control, which will benefit you by acting as a solid base for you to push off from when taking a stride and digging into the ground when braking and changing direction.
