M-Select Dry Waterproof Upper

Surround the upper of the Zion Peak is a waterproof M-Select membrane, inserted in the as the middle layer in the shoe. This membrane will block the entry of all moisture, preventing it from entering and causing any discomfort to the feet. This will be especially useful on long rainy days, where you will be protected from any discomfort caused by exposure to moisture. The glued seams will also prevent any areas for moisture to enter and expose your feet to dampness. The upper is also treated with M-Select FRESH, another technology developed by Merrell. This will work to keep the shoes feeling and smelling fresh, as the material is treated to prevent the growth of odour causing bacteria. The surface of the shoes are treated to repel surface water away from them instantly and effectively. This will mean that the shoes will remain lightweight, with no surface moisture building up and causing irritation and added weight. The upper is made from nubuck leather, and this will provide you with effective durability. The material thickens and strengthens over the toes, as well as around the heel, which will provide effective protection from any bumps or knocks that you may receive when on the trails. Easily secured laces with tough metal eyelets will allow you to achieve a comfortable fit. A soft padded tongue and ankle collar will remove the risk of irritation being caused by rubbing and chafing.

The molded nylon arch shank provides a supportive structure that resides between the insole and the outsole; diminishing the load incurred on your feet and calves over the course of your adventure the molded nylon arch shank helps to reduce fatigue. The midsole has an air cushion in the midsole, which works further to absorb shocks, as well as adding effective stability on each step.
