The New Balance 680v9 provides exceptional comfort thanks to the Fresh Foam midsole and an updated upper that keeps feet feeling cool and fresh.
Constructed with an engineered mesh upper, the New Balance Fresh Foam 680v9 wraps your feet in breathable comfort. The mesh encourages cool air to circulate through the shoe, providing a constant flow of fresh air while removing built-up heat. The increased ventilation creates a perfect microclimate for your feet to thrive, so you remain comfortable on long-distance days. A GORE-TEX lining provides optimum protection, keeping your feet protected against rain and moisture in poor, changing weather conditions. The new upper offers a snug fit and prevents in-shoe movement without being tight and uncomfortable. A padded collar and tongue sit softly against the foot, reducing the risk of chafing and irritation. The upper features a traditional lacing system that locks down the midfoot, reducing in-shoe slippage for distraction-free strides.
New Balance has updated the midsole for the v9. The innovative Fresh Foam in the 680 is now even softer than before, with the same premium cushioning, for a comfortable ride. Fresh Foam combines plush foam and advanced design, creating an ultra-cushioned, geometrically sound ride. Encouraging a smooth heel-to-toe transition, the new foam offers even more cushioning for a smoother run, with higher energy return, allowing you to put in more miles before your legs become heavy. Attenuating shock impact, Fresh Foam protects against joint stress when striking hard, unforgiving surfaces without compromising a responsive, natural ride.
Completing the New Balance 680v9 is a Hydrohesion rubber outsole that provides durable traction so you can go further and faster for longer. The full rubber outsole has been reconfigured to increase traction and durability on wet surfaces, keeping you in control even in poor conditions. The rubber forms a solid bond with the ground beneath, so you remain grounded at all times. The durable rubber outsole withstands wear and tear, ensuring traction on uneven terrain. The v9 now has a wider forefoot, increasing the shoe's surface area to enhance traction while improving stability.
