GORE-TEX Upper

Constructed using a mesh and leather upper, the Salomon Fortaleza GORE-TEX Walking Shoes are extremely breathable and comfortable which will allow you to push yourself further. The mesh that surrounds the upper allows cool air to circulate throughout its construction creating a perfect microclimate for your skin to thrive in plus, the leather increases structure and durability so you can hike with complete confidence. To avoid damp feet, and therefore dampened spirits, a GORE-TEX membrane resides inside the shoe; it supplies a combination of durable waterproofing and optimised breathability. Sometimes it's hard to stay dry without developing that distracting clammy feeling, but GORE-TEX keeps water on the outside while letting perspiration escape from the inside, keeping sweat to a minimum and you, cool and comfy. A Sensifit system cradles the foot providing a precise and secure fit whilst gusseted tongue sits comfortably against the skin and prevents debris from entering inside the shoe. Protection is key while out on the trails, so don't worry when wearing the Orion as it features a protective heel cap for rearfoot stability and a protective rubber toe cap to enhance protection from loose or sharp rocks. Completing the upper is a lacing system which locks down the midfoot to reduce in-shoe slippage so you can enjoy distraction-free strides.

EVA Midsole

The midsole is constructed from EVA which provides excellent shock-absorbing properties to help protect the foot from shock and impact force. This multi-functional midsole will provide both comfort and protection, as it has dual-density EVA. Towards the bottom, the EVA is extremely firm, which will absorb shocks instantly and effectively, preventing them from causing any damage to the sole of the foot. Energy produced from this will also be returned as rebound, which will give you an added spring in your step. The higher you get in the midsole, the EVA becomes less densely packed, which will make every step feel comfortable.

Non-marking Contagrip Outsole

The Salomon Fortaleza GORE-TEX Walking Shoes feature a Contagrip outsole, providing unique traction technology. With a mix of compound, lob geometry and density, it gives the boot brilliant grip and durability, regardless of the terrain underneath. Utilising different combinations of harder, softer and grippier Contagrip compounds, Salomon's adventure outsole provides the perfect blend of grip and durability to cover a multitude of terrains. Designed with specifically positions forefoot flex grooves and self-cleaning multi-directional lugs, these outsoles are field-tested and proven to dynamically tackle rugged terrains.
