Altra Kayenta Women's Running Shoes

Designed for a lightweight ride, the Altra Kayenta Women's Running Shoes are perfect for putting miles in on the road. With a two layer upper construction paired with a responsive Max-LT midsole, you will always feel comfort and protection in the shoes.

Two-Layer Upper

Surrounding the upper of the Kayenta is a two-layer construction. This material will adapt to individual footshapes and volumes, making it feel personalised, and additionally it will move with you feet for a tailored fit. The material is also made with a mixture of mesh and firmer material. The mesh will actively encourage a constant flow of air in and out of it. The upper of the shoe will also quickly dry off when exposed to moisture, keeping the feel of it lightweight over a long period of time. This will keep you feeling ventilated and comfortable as you activity intensifies. Surrounding the toes and the heel, the material thickens, which will mean that shocks will be absorbed instantly and effectively, preventing injuries from occurring. The shoe uses Footshape, a forefoot technology developed by Altra that allows the toes to splay naturally when running for a relaxed and stable base. A secure lacing system makes it easy to find a perfect fit, whilst a soft and padded tongue will sit against the ankle comfortably. Carrying the shoes around with you is easy to do with a heel loop.

MAX-LT Midsole

Keeping the overall weight of the shoe down to a minimum, this is helped by the MAX-LT midsole, which is extremely lightweight. This won't compromise any performance though, as it is still extremely responsive. Towards the top of the midsole, the EVA is soft and will cushion each step. This will prevent injuries from occurring in the knees and ankles, with less stress placed on them. Towards the bottom, the EVA is firmer, and this will absorb shocks from impacts on the road for protection to the sole of the feet. As you go through your gait, the midsole will rebound to give you an added spring in your step for a more responsive ride. The shoes use Altra's Balanced Cushioning Platform, which places the forefoot and the rearfoot at the same distance to the ground. This encourages a lower impact and a more natural gait cycle. A 5mm contoured footbed provides direct next to skin comfort for the sole of the feet.

Durable Rubber Outsole

A full rubber outsole will provide you with durable protection that will help you kick on without any damage over a long period of time. The rubber is able to form a solid grip with a wide range of different surfaces, holding you in a firm and solid position. The rubber is able to stand up against abuse from hard surfaces, maintaining its shape and definition. Multi-directional grooves will further anchor your feet in place, especially on wet ground, providing you with a solid base to launch off from. The outsole uses Footpod technology. This maps the bones and tendons in your feet, encouraging it to bend and move more naturally without the risk of damage.
