TikTok Content Creator & Channel Manager

Responsible to: Social Media Lead


Main purpose of role:
As SportsShoes looks to elevate and expand its social presence, you will own the management of SportsShoes’ branded organic content and community, with a primary focus on TikTok. You will create, and sometimes be the face of, content for the channel.

The purpose of this role is to embed SportsShoes within younger audience demographics by creating and managing TikTok-first content that feels native to the platform, drives meaningful engagement, and grows our presence and influence on the channel. You will be hands-on in ideating, creating, and publishing content, as well as actively engaging with our community in real time.

The role spans both SportsShoes’ own brand storytelling and collaborative content with the world’s leading running, trail, and outdoor brands - bringing fun to performance sport, through social-first creativity.


Who You Are:
You’re a creative and community-focused social media professional with a strong understanding of TikTok and emerging platforms. You’re confident in creating platform-native content and managing online communities, with a clear sense of how to engage younger audiences while maintaining a consistent brand voice.

You’re confident in creating content for brands and are comfortable appearing on camera when required, understanding how to bring personality to content while keeping it authentic and on-brand.


Key Tasks

Content Creation & Publishing

  • Ideate, film, edit, and publish TikTok-first content that aligns with brand tone and resonates with younger audiences.

  • Appear on camera to showcase products, trends, or campaigns in an authentic, engaging way.

  • Ensure all content is optimised for platform best practices and audience engagement.

Community Management

  • Monitor and engage with the TikTok community in real time, responding to comments, questions, and trends.

  • Engage with community content from other channels and embed SportsShoes within the platform community.

  • Build a loyal audience by fostering conversation, sharing relatable content, and amplifying user-generated content.

Trend & Cultural Monitoring

  • Stay ahead of TikTok and wider social trends, identifying opportunities for content and brand participation.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to translate trends into relevant brand-led content.

Collaboration & Partnerships

  • Work with external brands, influencers, and athletes to create co-branded or campaign-driven content.

  • Support partnerships by providing social-first creative ideas and optimising content for TikTok engagement.

Performance & Reporting

  • Track and report on content performance, community growth, and engagement metrics, working alongside the Social Media Lead to learn and grow the platform.

  • Use insights to refine content strategy and improve audience reach and retention.

Cross-Channel Support

  • Collaborate with wider social and marketing teams to ensure content consistency across platforms.

  • Repurpose TikTok content where relevant for other social channels, campaigns, or e-commerce activations.

Social Media Lead

Location: Hybrid – Shipley, Bradford (minimum 3 days per week)
Responsible to: Senior Partner Brand Marketing Manager


Main purpose of role:
As part of a growing and evolving business, you will be responsible for the organic output across a variety of social channels at SportsShoes. The aim of this role is to build and develop SportsShoes’ presence on social, to improve the creative quality and effectiveness of outputs. This is a key role in driving significant business impact, sustaining growth and unlocking new audiences.

The role will cover SportsShoes’ own brand content and the collaborations with the biggest brands in the world of running, trail and outdoor.


Who You Are:
You’re a creative, culture-first social expert who lives and breathes content. You’re a leader that understands what makes people stop scrolling, engage and share - and you know how to turn brand stories into standout social moments. You’re as comfortable thinking big, driving strategy, and leading creative direction as you are getting hands-on with day-to-day content, community and channels.

You live and breathe social, some people might even think it’s a problem, but you know what’s trending and what people want to see. You have 4-5 years experience working within social media.

You have an interest in running, trail and outdoor culture, and an instinctive feel for how communities show up on social. You’re confident working with global brands, collaborating across teams, and pushing creative quality to reach bigger and more engaged audiences - all while staying true to the SportsShoes brand.


Key Tasks: 

  • Own and develop a social content strategy that drives reach and engagement across key campaigns, moments and product launches, building a best-in-class suite of social channels.

  • You’re a voice at the table, guiding strategy and considering how the social channels feed into wider business objectives and ambitions.

  • You can unlock new audiences for brands, with a key focus on youth and community audiences. You can identify and engage with these audiences in an authentic way, delivering sustainable audience growth for the brand.

  • Create disruptive, social-first concepts that cut through crowded feeds, collaborating with internal brand and creative teams to brief, guide and execute ideas. Championing the role of social throughout the creative process.

  • Own and develop the SportsShoes’ TikTok channel by creating content that resonates with running audiences. You will have autonomy to develop and grow TikTok channel, with a separate content strategy and execution plan.

  • Lead the charge on emerging technologies and updates within the world of social, considering reach and social commerce integration, to keep the brand ahead of competitors.

  • You will be expected to regularly attend events to manage the capture of specific social-first content with athletes, ambassadors and partners.

  • You will be required to regularly work on evenings and weekends to cover content moments and events, for which you will be given rest time.

  • Challenge the campaign briefs and ideas in order to make them work harder on social. Collaborate with internal teams, including performance marketing, to ensure that all content is maximising its potential.

  • Work with the design team to instill an organic social identity for SportsShoes channels where necessary, aligning with the wider brand TOV and strategy.

  • Write, edit and proof copy for social channels, ensuring consistent voice and platform relevance.

  • Build a strategy to increase the audience for SportsShoes across social platforms, with specific KPIs and milestones.

  • Oversee the SportShoes ambassador ecosystem, to improve its organisation and maximise its potential.

  • Management of Social Media Co-ordinator, and their professional development. You will also be responsible for the make-up of your team, ensuring you maximise their contribution to the marketing function and the wider business.

  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with team members, other departments, external stakeholders and third-party media partners. 

  • Operate as a key member of the wider marketing team, contributing ideas to the development of the team’s objectives. 

  • Any additional tasks as reasonably requested by the Partner Brand Marketing Manager.
