Patagonia Durable Down Men's Parka

For committing climbs that require rugged insulation, the Durable Down Parka is a lofty and warm 800-fill-power down belay jacket with a two-way zipper that won't get shredded by rock abrasion. Using materials found in Patagonia's Workwear gear, it's tough enough to withstand the burliest pitches yet light enough to haul up the longest routes.

Designed with ultradurable face fabric from Patagonia's Steel Forge Workwear jacket, the Durable Down is a lighter weight version that still holds the same levels of durability for scaling rough surfaces. With a DWR (Durable Water Repellent) finish added, rain and poor weather are effectively blocked from entering time and time again. Within the fabric is 800-fill-power 100% Responsible Down Standard down for super warm and effective insulation, helping haul you up on the longest of routes. The inner lining of the down jacket consists of Pertex Quantum that is soft to the touch while keeping weight lower than the exterior and also being super quiet for a distraction-less ascend. Along the centre front of the jacket is a full-length two-way zip which ensures the jacket is belay device-compatible for easy access to your harness at all times. There are also two internal storm flaps that easily snap together to prevent cold chills from entering the jacket. At the neck is a simple and soft hood that is helmet compatible to easily put up over, with a high draft collar and elasticised binding; cold and windy weather is effectively blocked out. Elasticised binding has also been added to the cuffs and hem for a close-to-the-skin fit, entrapping heat. Multiple pockets have been added, including two hand-warming zip pockets on the sides that allow easy access to hanging belays, while the parka self-stuffs into the left pocket for easy and compact storage. Two internal drop-in mesh pockets can also be found for extra storage of essentials while on the move. The parka has climb-specific features such as broadened shoulders and discontinuous quilting for better mobility when reaching. Finally, an exterior loop can be found on the back of the neck to compress the parka down quickly and store it while still on the climb.
