The North Face Verto Approach GORE-TEX Men's Hiking Shoes

Designed in partnership with members of The North Face climbing team, the Verto A5 GORE-TEX Approach Shoes are lightweight, durable and waterproof.

Dyneema Ripstop Upper

Utilising a high-tenacity ripstop, the upper of the Verto Approach is highly durable, protecting against varied terrain and weather with Dyneema technology implemented into it. The high-performance woven fabric is super strong yet remains lightweight and highly breathable for refreshing wear. Perforations in the upper allow air to circulate effectively around the foot, helping heat escape and, in turn, allowing cool, fresh air to enter, keeping you comfortable and motivated to push on. The upper also has a GORE-TEX bootie built in; the GORE-TEX materials provide optimum protection on the trails by keeping your feet dry in poor, changing weather, including snowy conditions. To shield feet from direct injury, protective rubber has been used around the shoe with medial and lateral rubber rands to protect the sides of your feet when scrambling and climbing, alongside a reinforced scratch-rubber toe cap to prevent damage from snags and bumps while covering unpredictable paths. For enhanced stability, the forefoot has an ergonomic fit that allows you to splay your toes, which in turn helps improve balance. On the rear of the collar is a heel pull tab to assist in putting the shoes on. Finally, a traditional lacing system has been added to provide strong midfoot lockdown for a confident and immovable fit.

EVA Foam Midsole

Providing plush cushioning underfoot, the midsole of the Verto Approach has been crafted out of lightweight EVA foam. This compound jumps into action when stepping down on unforgiving surfaces. Shock is absorbed into the foam, dissipating direct impact and protecting your joints and feet from injury. Within the foam is a midfoot stability shank, adding support underfoot on uneven terrain alongside an ESS rock plate to prevent underfoot injuries caused by sharp rocks and sticks.

Vibram Megagrip

Completing the Verto Approach is a Vibram Megagrip outsole that supplies a sticky grip for multi-directional traction. This high-performance outsole provides you with an unparalleled grip on both wet and dry surfaces, rugged longevity, and optimal ground adaptability. The rubber can form a solid bond with the ground beneath it, ensuring traction and control as you explore the unbeaten path.
